Milford-on-Sea, on the edge of the New Forest, is a traditional coastal village with many listed buildings, magnificent woodlands, river and cliff top walks and attractive beaches.
To the southeast is a shingle spit leading to Hurst Castle, which Henry VIII built to defend the Solent. It is now managed by English Heritage. A passenger ferry runs between the castle and the hamlet of Keyhaven with its lively fishing and yachting harbour, coastal walks to the birds at the old Salterns and the historic Gun Inn.
The mix of old-fashioned charm and busy thriving village life makes Milford-on-Sea a popular destination for visitors throughout the year.
